Review + MOC: 43247 Young Simba the Lion King from LEGO® Disney™

Posted by Eero

The June 2024 LEGO® Disney™ set 43247 Young Simba the Lion King is another example of an adult-oriented product based on a children's character. In addition to being a large model of the cartoon lion cub, this set is a treasure trove of Bright Light Orange pieces, also known as Flame Yellowish Orange, or Keetorange as I like to say. So what is this set worth to a builder who has never seen The Lion King?

Review: 76291 The Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron from LEGO® Marvel

Posted by Kev Levell
Depicting the snowy opening sequence of 2015's Avengers: Age Of Ultron, LEGO® Marvel set 76291 The Avenger Assemble: Age of Ultron takes the form of a "frozen moment" that conveys all the frenetic energy of three action-packed minutes.

The action takes place in a frosty forest setting outside a Hydra research facility in the fictional Eastern European country of Sokovia. The Avengers are all here, looking cool: Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Thor and Hulk.

Review: 71486 Castle Nocturnia from LEGO® DREAMZzz™

Posted by tobymac

Ever since I came into contact with his work when I was a teenager, I’ve been intrigued by the work of Dutch artist M.C. Escher. The way he incorporates math and warped perspective into his art strikes a chord with me. With LEGO® DREAMZzz™ set 71486 Castle Nocturnia, do we finally get a LEGO version of his work?

Are the latest LEGO® Marvel sets worth the money?

Posted by Kev Levell

As I have been reviewing the most recent wave of LEGO® Marvel sets, the issue of relative value has been troubling me increasingly. After building The Milano and Dancing Groot for review and being thoroughly happy with the value of those sets, I moved onto The Helicarrier and I was a little disappointed with what was on offer for the price. I actually felt a little mean about being so critical. Nevertheless, I embarked upon my analysis of set 76291 Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron with a degree of pessimism.

Before proceeding further, I decided to investigate the relative cost of the August 2024 LEGO Marvel sets against other IP (intellectual property) sets and regular LEGO sets, to judge if my concerns were justified.

After LEGO launched the grey goat on Pick a Brick, we now suggest something you can use them for: an extinct creature that loves devouring goats (according to a famous movie). Set 76964 Dinosaur Fossils: T. rex Skull was released in January 2024 and although the set comes without a goat, it still has some tasty elements.
