LEGO® Pick a Brick improvements in Europe, Australia and New Zealand

As a result of more warehouse space in Poland, LEGO® Pick a Brick have just made a massive upgrade to the platform (but not in North America, which remains the same, as it is not served by the Polish facility).

In Europe, Australia and New Zealand, all "Standard" elements are in the process of being moved to "Bestseller" and soon there will be no more Standard elements. There is no concrete information as to whether the same changes will happen in North America in the future.

This change means that the delivery time for all Pick a Brick online purchases in Europe, Australia and New Zealand will be 9 to 15 working days instead of 28, and you will be able to track all orders.

The Bestseller and Standard categories will still be visible on the European, Australian and New Zealand sites, at least for the time being.

The change is fantastic news, and has happened just before the addition of the new LEGO parts from June sets which is just commencing now! So the new elements should all be available soon, hopefully by the time you read this.

  1. I still have a few "standard" parts in my cart, wondering if I should wait a couple of days, or if it's gonna take weeks or more for these few.

    1. Also, it all seems a bit sloppy for now. Like, 109426 Brickheadz eye is "best seller" but its twin part 109505 is "standard" lol. Will still have to place a standard order I guess. Still happy to see a lot of new parts.

  2. So, bigger assortment and shorter delivery time, it seems. Great news. The classification was irritating already from its start. I hope the shipping costs won't increase, though, but if you will have the entire PAB assortment available for each purchase, it might still be worth it.

  3. This may also mean less wear on the parts previously shipped as regular letters from Billund through Germany. Most parts with large surfaces (e.g. tiles and windscreens) are IMHO unusable when received through PAB. Too many nicks and scratches. That's why I stopped buying long time ago.

    1. Alas, I suspect most of the nicks and scratches occur through shipping. I'm afraid the change won't improve the situation much.

    2. If they could stop pouring all parts into a single large bag and learn a thing or two from the pros on Bricklink that certainly could help.

    3. In the sets, the parts are often packed separately to avoid scratching. I guess as Lego is an international business giant, they opt for standard packing methods, regardless of the size of the orders or the type of part, unlike Bricklink businesses which operate on a smaller level, and likely could be more flexible.

  4. This is great news. Although it obviously hasn't helped the order that I've now been waiting a month and a day for as it's still languishing "in wahrehouse". 😭

    1. Are you counting in "days" or "working days" as I am still waiting for a standard order then read the fine print and realised 28 working days is another couple of weeks.

  5. This is great news, just watch out if you slowly fill your cart in the next few days/months as it switches over, I have found now a couple of times it visually loses items in the cart, but they are still in the total so you have to remember what you added.

  6. This is great news! But be warned, if you ordered in the last couple of days you might not get all your parts. I added many parts to an order yesterday and I’ve just gone back to check and there are several missing that I know I added. So I think things have maybe disappeared from carts as they’ve switched over. Annoying, but customer service will hopefully help me out.

    1. Yes, when they updated the system, Standard parts that moved to Bestseller were wiped from any existing carts. Check your totals to make sure you weren't charged for parts that got removed
