Frédéric Roland Andre, Creative Lead for LEGO® Horizon Adventures™ and the set's lead designer, Joseph Patrick Kyde, Senior Designer introduced the product to us at Fan Media Days.
Heroes Aloy and Varl do battle in jungle surroundings with Shell-Walker and Sawtooth. They have some grass reeds to hide behind and a campfire, which is a safe point when exploring the world in this video game. There's also a treasure chest with gold in it.
Varl spear and Aloy's bow can be fitted with the three different power-ups: fire, shock or chill. Aloy has the same wig as from the LEGO® Horizon Forbidden West set 76989 Tallneck, but sports a new bow and arrow element! Meanwhile Varl has a new hair piece and cape – see more pictures further on.
Shell-Walker has many points of articulation, and holds the shield generator which can be detached and used by the minifigures, as in the game. The cargo pod pops off satisfyingly too!
Sawtooth has opening jaws, a swivelling torso and a posable neck, head and legs.
New moulds
Aloy's Bow
Varl's Hair (5726) and Cape
Plate Round 1x1 with Recessed Stud and Clip on Underside (5264)
Spotted recently in the upcoming January 2025 LEGO® Monkie Kid™ and Chinese Traditional Festival sets , this incredibly useful piece is bound to be popular and become common in LEGO building in 2025. As in those sets, the Horizon Adventures LEGO set uses this mould in pearl gold, but we also spotted it here in black, used to attach the shield generator to the Shell-Walker.
Recolours
- The shield generator uses the giant snowflake element with 6 trans-light blue triangular road signs – the first time this piece has been cast in any transparent colour.
- The Shell-Walker cargo pod has sand blue 45° cut 1x2 tiles.
- The 3x1 rounded plate on the claws of the Shell-Walker (77850) is new in orange.
- The long horn / tentacle / branch / tongue (13564) on the grass reeds is also new in orange.
- The space gun used for the hilt of the big sword is new in dark brown.
- The blue feathers used for Aloy's chill power-up (see below) could be dark azure we think, but even if they are regular blue, that's a welcome return for a rare colour.
Will you be pre-ordering this set now or waiting until closer to the event in March next year?
LEGO® Horizon Adventures™ is available to play now across PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

If you put 5264 beneath a Tile with Clip (15712) would the two bars in the clip be a stud apart? I got the feeling the answer is no, looks like the base is half a plate
