Revealed: Formula 1® joins multiple LEGO® themes in 2025

LEGO® Speed Champions, LEGO® City, LEGO® DUPLO® and LEGO® Collectables are teaming up with Formula 1® to drive the excitement of the racetrack to your home. In January, March and May 2025, new waves of LEGO sets will launch that feature all ten F1 teams.

This reveal is the first step in a new multi-year partnership between the two juggernaut brands that will connect even more LEGO builders with the world of F1. With every one of the 10 teams represented across the sets, fans can buy their favourite team's car, while others will want to collect the lot. 

The sets release in time for the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of F1, and some are available for pre-order in selected countries; check out the LEGO Formula 1 page at LEGO.com/F1.

March 2025 LEGO Speed Champions F1

Taking centre stage with their trademark detailed replicas of iconic cars is the LEGO Speed Champions theme, and this time there's more than ever!

Sets and pricing:

These sets are packed with authentic details in the shaping and decoration of the bodywork, but the chassis structure appears to be similar between each of the cars from what we can make out. The great thing about that is, we will be able to get the same elements in many different recolours or printed versions at once!

Decorations are a mix of printing and stickers, and some of the printing technology looks amazing on these parts with multiple surfaces.

There are heaps of recoloured pieces, but we're especially interested to learn more about a couple of new moulds we spotted.


The rear wings are what seems to be a Brick Curved, 6 x 2 x 1 with Inverted Cutout, No Studs. It comes in black in every set except 77247 KICK Sauber F1® Team C44 Race Car as pictured above, where it is green. 

Unfortunately, being 6-wide, its usage will be limited, but it looks like its arc could possibly match existing curves such as Brick Curved, 3 x 1 with 1/3 Inverted Cutout (70681)?



The wishbone shape with a curved panel is a new mould representing the Wheel Tethers with Aero Cover. We can image why LEGO chose to go with a specialised element here; when you have such a specific shape in a small space in a product that needs to survive heavy play, it's often the best option. 

It is coming in black on all of the cars. Might make a good bar stool for minifigures? Especially if you're designing a Hard Rock Cafe!

    May 2025 LEGO Collectibles 71049 F1 Racecars 


    I've not heard of the LEGO Collectibles theme before; perhaps it is something that LEGO Minifigures fall under.

    Similarly to that line, the F1 series is a single SKU with 12 mini-cars to collect by purchasing blind boxes. They are inky dinky little racers of questionable proportions. 


    Those new helmets look cool, and we assume they do fit minifigures, but we're not certain just from these pics!

    And how about that steering? It looks like a new U-shaped curved bar, which would be fantastically useful! But after the recent fiasco with the arm pieces in LEGO Wicked and LEGO Wednesday sets that turned out to be fused together, we're not ruling out that these bars might be stuck to those clips holding them.



    Also new is the front wings piece, and presumably the chassis. We're not sure what the extent of the chassis is though – for example does it include the attachment for the white pins joining the wheels on? Is it a pre-made assembly including the front wings?



    All ten F1® teams are featured along with F1 and F1 ACADEMY™ show cars to make up 12.

      The 6x2 "spoiler slope" looks useful indeed, especially if it matches other curved slope/arch pieces (it certainly looks like it might). It looks to be about 2.5 plates thick at the back and 1 plate thick at the front, which would be—and could be great in combination with other slopes as a subtle accessibility ramp.

      I can't imagine that the clips/bars from the tiny sets will be fused—unlike the part from the Wicked sets (which seems to have been a late change and functions as a cuff of sorts on long-sleeved figures), there's really no reason why the clips here would have to be clip-shaped if they were one coinjected piece. The new wheels on those sets also look nice—the same size and connectivity as 42610 but with a smoother shape and printing. In general, the printed parts from those sets might be some of my favorites, since the wheels and many of the slopes and tiles used for each car seem to have nice streamlined and simple patterns with reduced branding, making them more versatile than the abundant car and brand logos in the other sets.

      Ultimately F1 isn't really my thing, though, and I'm more interested in the Mario Kart sets that will also be debuting next year.

      Wait a sec...can it really be....DIFFERENT SIZED TIRES!! Am I seeing correctly or do the Speed Champions sets not have actually wider rear tires!!?!

      Also, I find it cool/interesting that the City F1 cars appear to be 7-wide. I'm curious if we will get a new/interesting chassis or other odd-stud-length parts from those.

      The helmets on the collectables and the helmets on the Speed Champions figures are one and the same. Of course they're minifigure-compatible.
