New moulds

There are four exciting new moulds in these sets, some of which we have already dealt with in a couple of other of our reviews of new parts for 2025, but two are exclusive here.

4 different Lego pieces

They are all to be found in 80116 Trotting Lantern, and also where mentioned below:

  • 2x Plate Round 1x1 with Clip at Underside in Pearl Gold (6520665 | 5264) - also found in 80117 Good Fortune (x2), and additionally in 42652 Friendship Tree House Hangout and 10343 Mini Orchid. See Eero's thorough analysis of the 'ring' part in his recent review.
  • 2x Dumpling in Tan (6508751 | 6647) - also in 42655 Restaurant and Cooking School. See Toby's review of the dumpling piece.
  • 1x Costume/Mask Snake in Lime (6516506 | 7051) - unique to Trotting Lantern
  • 8x Chain with Bars in Pearl Gold (6512378 | 6891) - also appears in Good Fortune (x2) and 40756 Lucky Knots (x8).

LEGO Chain with 1 Link and Bars (6891)

We do not yet know the official name for the chain, but they remind me of tiny nunchucks! Unfortunately I don't have the minifigure accessory nunchucks (67100pb01) which came with LEGO® Minifigures Series 20 Martial Arts Boy for comparison. Those had two loose chain links between the ends, and the bars were considerably longer.

Here is a closer look at the new chain's geometry:

a short golden lego chain piece, stretched straight out between two clip pieces

When stretched taut, the chain is just over 3 modules long, and is a nice fit into clips spaced with 2-module gap between them. The bars at each end are a little bit longer than half a module, and fit snugly into any clip or hollow stud.

the short lego chain piece with its end bars inserted into other lego parts so the 2 bars sit parallelparallel

The middle chain link is just about long enough to enable you to insert the bar ends into two hollow studs placed next to each other, although it looks like this actually stresses the parts a little - you may notice that the example on the left above has moved the ⅔ bricks slightly; they are not quite vertical. It's a tight fit into a 1x2 SNOT brick too, but if you want to use the chains as fancy greebling, you can probably get away with it.

One thing that the image on the right does show up is a moulding injection point on the middle link which is quite noticeable. You may want to orient that carefully when using the chain.

Recoloured elements

There are 6 new colours of existing pieces found across the two main sets.

6 different Lego pieces

The first two elements are exclusive recolours in Trotting Lantern:

  • Door Frame 4x4x6 Corner in Dark Turquoise (6526568 | 28327)
  • Wedge Plate 2x2 Cut Corner in Bright Light Orange (6526569 | 26601)

The others are exclusive to Good Fortune:

  • Brick Round Corner 5x5x1 with Bottom Cut Outs [No Studs] [1/4 Arch] in Reddish Orange (6524696 | 7033)
  • Brick Round Corner 5x5x3 1/3 Dome Top [Plain] in Reddish Orange (6524594 | 76776)
  • Brick Round 5x5 Macaroni with 1/3 Inner Side in Reddish Orange (6524695 | 5532)
  • Brick Curved 2x4 No Studs, Curved Top, with Groove in Bright Red/Red (6528416 | 6192b) - the image above does not show the red colour very well, but it is definitely different to its tomato soup siblings!

New prints

The GwP uses stickers, but once again a stunning array of new printed elements is found in the larger sets.

10 different Lego pieces

The following printed elements are all exclusive to Trotting Lantern:

  • 1x Torso with print in Red (6529812 | 973pr)
  • 2x Torso with print in Dark Turquoise (6529721 | 973pr)
  • 1x Panel 1x2x2 [Side Supports/Hollow Studs] with print in Trans-Clear (6516511 | 87552pr)
  • 1x Panel 1x2x2 [Side Supports/Hollow Studs] with print in Trans-Clear (6516510 | 87552pr)
  • 16x Glass for Window 1x4x6 with print in Opal Trans-Clear (6516508 | 57895pr)
  • 1x Minifig Head with print in Trans-Red (6516514 | 28621pr)

The following elements are all exclusive to Good Fortune:

  • 2x Dish 8x8 Inverted [Radar], Solid Studs, Rounded Anti-stud Underside with print in White (6519101 | 3961pr)
  • 1x Tile 2x6 with print in Red (6519099 | 69729pr)
  • 1x Tile 2x6 with print in Red (6519100 | 69729pr)

As well as appearing in all three of the Chinese Traditional Festival sets in 2025, this tile also appears in 10344 Lucky Bamboo:

  • Tile Round 2x2 with print in Pearl Gold (6516513 | 14769pr)

Rare in Trotting Lantern

8 different Lego pieces

The following have been in one other set to date:

  • 4x Plate 2x10 in Flame Yellowish Orange/Bright Light Orange (6445320 | 3832) - just in 60380 Downtown
  • 1x Equipment Scissors in Warm Gold/ Pearl Gold (6489198 | 18920) - seen in 76439 Ollivanders & Madam Malkin’s Robes
  • 1x Minifig Head, Eyebrows, Half-Rimmed Glasses, Smirk / Wink, Open Mouth Smile Print in Bright Yellow/Yellow (6465547 | 105777) - just in 80113 Family Reunion Celebration
  • 4x Tile Round 1x2 Half Circle in Flame Yellowish Orange/Bright Light Orange (6513772 | 1748) - in 76935 NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
  • 4x Tile Round 1x2 Half Circle in Red (6516544 | 1748) - also in 76934 Ferrari F40 Supercar

These can be found in just two other sets:

  • 1x Plate 4x4 Corner in Earth Blue/Dark Blue (6442566 | 2639) - new Element ID for existing piece
  • 1x Hair Long with 2 Buns in Black (6299658 | 66915
  • 2x Slope Inverted 33° 3 x 2, Round Bottom Pin in Black (6435928 | 2752)

Regarding the inverted slope, this is only the third appearance of this new mould variant, which first appeared in 2022, which has a round pin on the underside:

2 black inverted lego slopes seen from underneath. They are identical, except for the little pin in between the 1x2 hollow underside section. In one te pin is round, the other has a pin shaped like a dash.

Above left is the new variant (6435928 | 2752), while the element on the right is the older mould (374726 | 3747b). We don't normally worry about the mould variations too much, but in this case, the substitution of the rectangular pin for a hollow round version can affect how the part is used.

Rare in Good Fortune

7 different Lego pieces

These elements all appear in just one other set:

  • 4x Plate Special 4x4 with 3x3 Quarter Round Cutout in Medium Azure (6493909 | 35044) - appears in 31153 Modern House
  • 4x Brick Arch 1x5x3 1/3 Curved Top in White (6507225 | 5845) - additionally in 21353 The Botanical Garden

  • 6x Slope 30° 1x2x 2/3 in Pearl Gold (6134284 | 85984) - also in 75398 C-3PO
  • 1x Technic Brick Special 1x2 with Pin Hole and 1x2 Plate in Black (6506032 | 73109) - also in 10338 Bumblebee

  • 6x Slope Curved 3x2 with Stud Notch Left (6502821 | 80177) and Right (6502823 | 80178) in Pearl Gold - also in C-3PO

Rare in Lucky Knots

3 different Lego pieces. One has a sticker of a chinese character on it.

Surprisingly for such a small set, there are also three rare parts in Lucky Knots, all of which have been seen in two other sets to date:

  • 2x Tile 4x4 in Brick Yellow/Tan (6488487 | 1751) - I had already applied the sticker before taking the photos of the parts, oops.
  • 8x Plate 3x3 Corner in Red (6493105 | 77844)
  • 30x Equipment Flotation Ring [Life Preserver] in Red (6438242 | 30340)

We will be reviewing the sets individually in early 2025. See you next year!

  1. Nice review of some cool parts!

The new chain piece also shows up in 80066 Mythical Creature Qilin from the Monkie Kid theme, as does the plate with clip.

  2. It's quite exciting to have a chain that is attached opposite to the connection point, should be very useful for chandeliers and other hanging structures, as demonstrated by these sets. I wonder how it works with the "dragon hilt" piece, as it seems a perfect fit to make nunchucks. Maybe we'll see that in Ninjago or a similar theme soon?
