2x Points on selected LEGO® Lord of the Rings™ sets
The Australian and New Zealand LEGO.com sites indicate that from 2 to 8 April 2025, LEGO Insiders double points are available on selected LEGO Lord of the Rings sets. Perhaps all countries will follow suit.
40761 The Lord of the Rings: Sméagol™ & Déagol™ GwP
- Release date: 2 to 8 April 2025, or while stocks last
- Pieces: 181

The scene occurs on the Gladden River, and depicts the opening scene from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King with Sméagol in a boat on the water, and Déagol diving underwater for The One Ring.
The back of the box reveals the scene that follows: Déagol joyously inspects The One Ring on the riverbank while Sméagol – instantly on his way to being corrupted by The One Ring and to become Gollum – sneaks up menacingly behind him.

- Pieces: 238
- Measures: over 12 cm (4.5 in.) tall

On 27 March, LEGO revealed this LEGO® Creator gift with purchase to celebrate Children's Day, although it doesn't indicate which of the many Children's Days they mean! International Children's Day is 1 June, which seems most likely. World Children's Day is 20 November. I'm confused. Maybe we will get this GwP multiple times!
- glasses and a book,
- a blue bow tie and pencils and paper,
- a pink bow tie and a rose, or
- a set of 3 LEGO® bricks.
5009157 Amelia Ticket Booth GwP
- Release date: From 7 to 13 April 2025, or while stocks last
- Pieces: 152
- Measures: over 3 in. (10 cm) high, 4 in. (11 cm) wide and 3 in. (8 cm) deep
- Availability: Free with purchases via LEGO Stores or LEGO.com of 21356 River Steamboat
You can't set sail on the river steamboat Amelia without a ticket!
This is an understated architectural model with some nice details. It seems a bit dull, but note that LEGO.com only shows the model from one single angle.
Their description provides two more clues:
- There is a riverboat museum inside comprising a small steam boat model, and a microfigure
- The tiles with 'TICKET' and 'AMELIA' with schedule information are printed

This is the most disturbing LEGO set I've ever seen. It literally depicts the prelude to a murder!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a prelude to a cold-blooded murder motivated only by avarice (as opposed to all the 100% 'justified' murders by our comic-book and space-opera heroes)
DeleteThis is certainly not a set I would have thought would ever be made, but I am not complaining! In fact it is refreshing that if these sets are going to be labelled 18+ that they are prepared to stray a little more into the 'mature content' realm of pop culture (not too far though).
It's interesting as I feel the same way....but didn't feel that way at all about the Death star sets that depict the superlaser firing! Literally depicting genocide on a planetary scale. Somehow one individual creature murdering another with bare hands is more disturbing.
DeleteI was curious and so had to look it up, this (and the references cited) seems to be a good place to start. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identifiable_victim_effect
These comments are way better now that they're listed directly after a teddy bear GwP.
Delete:D :D Especially a teddy bear with an angry frown and tapping a brick in his paws. If he had paws that is
