43262 Maleficent's and Cruella De Vil's Dresses from LEGO® Disney is the second of the two dress sets that will be released 1 March 2025.

We have already taken a look at 43266 Cinderella's Dress and now it's time for the slightly larger and more expensive set with two dresses. While both of these sets may not be of interest to everyone from a theme point of view, they do contain some nice new elements.

New mould
Round Plate 2 x 2 with Circular Bar Frame (7068)
- 2x Round Plate 2 x 2 with Circular Bar Frame in Black (6537354 | 7068)
New prints
There are two animal moulds that have been seen before, but have a new print in this set, as well as 3 new printed tiles:

- 8x Tile 2 x 4 with Groove with print in White (6524480)
- 1x Tile 4 x 4 with Maleficent print in Black (6530458)
- 1x Tile 4 x 4 with Cruella print in Black (6524481)
- 1x Animal, Dog Pup with print in White (6537512)
- 1x Animal, Bird with print (Diablo the Raven) in Bright Light Orange and Black (6537511)

A closer look at the two new 4x4 tiles shows some impressive details. The date at the bottom refers to the respective villains' first appearance; Disney's Sleeping Beauty was released on 29 January 1959 while the original Disney animation One Hundred and One Dalmatians was released 25 January 1961.
In each corner are icons that relate to the original film: Maleficent has a rose, her pet raven Diablo, a spinning wheel and a dragon; while Cruella has her car, dog prints, her handbag and the back of her fur coat both had three feathers as decoration in the original film and the dalmatian spots.
Recolours
There are four recolours in the set.
- 4x Panel 3 x 3 x 2 Quarter Round in Black (6529486 | 3535)
- 8x Wedge Plate 4 x 2 Left in Magenta (6536751 | 41770) - no Right sadly!
- 4x Brick Curved 2 x 2 x 1 with Curved Top - Corner in Pearl Gold (6529272 | 5846)
- 2x Plant / Animal Body Part, Tree / Branch / Tail with Pin in Black (6536753 | 24204, 65041)
Mini-dolls

There are two new mini-dolls included, their individual elements are shown below. Maleficent has appeared in both minifigure and mini-doll form before – in fact there have been three mini-doll versions.

This is the first time Cruella De Vil has been in mini-doll form. While I'm personally more a fan of minifigures in general, there is no denying the fact that these mini-dolls are really nicely designed – better than their minifigure equivalents.
I much prefer the dalmation puppy shown here, which came with the LEGO® Minifigures
Disney 100 version of Cruella, compared to the one in this set.
Maleficent
- 1x Head Top with Widow's Peak and 2 Large Curved Segmented Horns (Maleficent) in Black (6437022 | 24636)
- 1x Minidoll Head with print in Light Aqua (6524475)
- 1x Minidoll Torso Woman with print in Black (6540713)
- 1x Minidoll Hips and Full Length Skirt with print in Black (6524479)
- 1x Cape in Black (6538526)
Cruella De Vil
- 1x Hair in Black and White (6540899)
- 1x Minidoll Head with print in Light Nougat (6524471)
- 1x Minidoll Torso Woman with print in Light Nougat (6541136)
- 1x Minidoll Hips and Long Skirt with print in Black (6541157)
- 1x Fur Cape in Yellow (6538534)
Capes
The two new fabric capes are particularly interesting and come in their own little protective cardboard box (6538535).
Both capes are perfect additions for their respective characters. It's not very often we get furry accessories so Cruella's fur coat is particularly nice. More recent 'fur' minifigure or mini-doll fabrics have not actually been fur and usually a finer material with a fur effect or print, but if you go back to the time of LEGO® Belville, fur trims and clothing was used. And of course, who can forget the
LEGO® DUPLO® bearskin.
Rare elements
There are three elements that have appeared in 3 or less sets.
- 56 x Tile Round 1 x 1 Quarter in Satin Trans Bright Green (6384587 | 84411)
- 2 x Plate Round 6 x 6 with Hole in Dark Orange (6495165 | 11213) which is also in 43266 Cinderella's Dress released 1 March 2025.
- 8 x Brick Round Corner 3 x 3 x 1 with Bottom Cut Outs in Reddish Brown (6385278 | 65617), again found in 43266 Cinderella's Dress.
The build
Cruella De Vil dress
The dalmation-printed 2x4 tiles in white (6524480) are used to create the flowing skirt portion of the dress. Four tiles are placed in one orientation, alternating with 4 in the opposite position to give variety to the final appearance.

The sections are attached to the new round plate 2 x 2 with circular bar frame and lowered into an overlapping position.
All three dresses in this series have the same base, using the brick corner 3 x 3 x 1 with in reddish brown (6385278 |
65617).
The bodice makes good use of both 2x3 plate with rocks (
27261) and the 2x2 curved slope with notch left (
5095) and right (
5093). Thomas took a detailed look at the
2x2 curved slope with notch back in April 2024when it first appeared in a LEGO® Speed Champions set.

The final dress is more of a mini skirt than the long slinky number that I remember Cruella De Vil wearing, but the dalmatian print looks good. It looks like a children's fancy dress rather than an attempt to truly make Cruella De Vil's outfit.
Maleficent dress
The Maleficent dress has the same basic structure, with the eight sections attached to the new 2x2 round mould once more.
There are three segments to Maleficent's full length dress: the skirt, central waist and then the upper torso.
Base
The base has two hinged compartments, each with one of the new two 4x4 printed tiles denoting Cruella and Maleficent. The top dark purple tiles can be customised and a few different patterns are included in the instructions.
Both minifigures and their respective pets can fit into the base compartments. It did give me a little bit of a coffin vibe, but great for keeping all the set elements together.
Final build
The final build is an interesting mix of the two dresses, the base with compartments and the mini-dolls with their pets. There's no doubt that Maleficent's dress is the winner here (and I'm including
Cinderella's dress in that assessment). It's the one that is the best shape and most fun to build, plus – who doesn't want 56 1x1 quarter-tiles in satin trans-bright green?
The two mini-dolls are excellent and Cruella is by far the best version of this character that LEGO has achieved. She looks the part: she has her luxury fur coat and her long red gloves and red shoes. The only thing she needs is her long cigarette holder, but thankfully smoking is no longer included in Disney productions.
Price-wise, this set works out a bit more expensive at 11.4p/13.4c/13.4c per part. There is not a huge amount of interesting elements here, but the new mould, the fun printed elements and the mini-dolls may make this attractive to fans of the theme.
